The Library of Partium Christian University was founded in 1990 and it has developed ever since. The foundation of its patrimony was established by the Széchenyi National Library from Budapest as well as the Pro Hungaris Foundation, with an initial collection of 5,000 volumes. After its establishment, the Library developed through winning grants, receiving private donations and regular acquisitions in all domains.
Currently, the Library has a patrimony of 48,000 volumes as well as several specialised journal subscriptions. It works with an open-shelf system which makes it easy for our students to study and do research thoroughly. The institution’s IT network offers access to international scientific databases such as EBSCO (http://ebscohost.com), JSTOR (http://www.jstor.org), and SpringerLink (http://link.springer.com/). The Library has about a thousand visitors. External users and alumni may also visit our library.
